The Journey
The journey of Village Well Noosa Mineral Water begins in the clouds, from which falls our average annual rainfall of approximately 1.5 metres. Much of this precipitation lands on our beautiful beaches and forests, however there is a large amount that soaks deep underground through patches of land permeating through the earth’s surface.
The water travels deep into the subterranean where it makes its way through spaces between the particles in the soil. The nature of the geology determines how fast the water travels. Water travelling through soil that is rich in clay takes substantially longer to journey downward, due to the shear density of the ground in which the water must traverse.
The water eventually reaches a layer deep underground that is impermeable. There, the water is stored in an untouched underground aquifer. Unlike surface water from lakes and rivers which can easily be contaminated, water which is sourced underground is clean and protected because it has spent time in nature’s perfect filtration and mineralisation systems.
As the water moves through the various layers of soil and rock, it is enriched with minerals specific to the geology of the area. Village Well Noosa Mineral Water is particularly rich in silica, but also contains magnesium, calcium and other trace elements. This process of natural purification and mineralisation also impacts the pH and alkalinity of the water.
Bottled at the Source
Many bottled water companies simply don’t have the luxury of bottling at the source. In bottling at the source, we maintain the quality and integrity of the water. The time which it takes to extract the water from the source to a sealed and capped bottle is of high importance. Our water is neither held in storage tanks nor trucked in from various sources.
Our water is bottled only in glass, directly from the one aquifer. Village Well Noosa Mineral Water is purely single origin.
Saying no to plastic
The ‘Great Pacific Garbage Patch’, is now believed to be roughly twice the size of the USA! Plastic constitutes around 90 per cent of all rubbish floating in our oceans. Our commitment to solely bottle in glass is foundational to the integrity of our Australian owned company. Glass is free from harmful chemicals, being pure and natural.
